Missing Assignments

Yesterday the students were given a list of assignmnets that they have not yet turned in. These are all past due. They should check their desks, schoolbags, houses etc for these assignments. There is also a number of papers hanging on the board with no names. The students should check here first. If they can not find it they should see me for a make up assignment. For most assignments I will not have extra copies. They will have to do another assignmnet testing them on the skill. All of these assignments are counted as test grades. Please note the students have been given many oral reminders through out the past weeks.

Mystery Reader

I would like all adults: parents, neighbors, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc to come share their favorite story with our class. Our class would love to hear stories from other readers. If you are able to donate some time to our classroom please let me know when you are able to come in. But please don't tell the students when you are coming. We would like our mystery reader to be kept a surprise.

Scholastic Orders

The best gift a child can receive is a love of books. That is why I offer the Scholastic book orders. You often can purchase books for $1 or $2. To order you can send cash or a check made out to Scholastic Book Clubs along with the order form to school with your child. Or to make it even easier you can now order books online. Browse all the great monthly club selections at low prices and order online. Plus, our class earns a FREE book every time a parent orders online.

Here’s how it works:

1. Use the information below to access the Scholastic Book Clubs Web site.
2. Browse the titles with your child, and place your order with your credit card.
3.Your order will come to me, and your credit card payment will go directly to Scholastic’s secure server. There’s no need to send money to school.
4.After I submit the entire class’s order to Scholastic, your order will be delivered to our classroom for your child to take home.

Ordering online is the most convenient way to use Scholastic Book Clubs. You can order anytime, right up until the online order due date. You’ll also get instant access to over 500 additional titles plus online-only specials and discounts.

And don’t forget: Every time a parent places an order online, we earn a FREE book for our classroom library!

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Personal Scrapbooks

Each student will create their own personal third grade scrapbook. Please consider sending some photos from home for your child to add to their scrapbooks. We would also appreciate donations of supplies such as stickers, design paper, double sided tape etc.
